Tap Tap Games is a rhythm-based game inspired by genre classics such as Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero. Players must stay in sync with the music by performing inputs precisely timed to on-screen beats and patterns.

The game supports flexible audio integration, allowing music to be streamed either via Spotify or HLS streams. This enables a modular audio pipeline and makes it possible to build artist-driven experiences and marketing campaigns, where each artist can have customized gameplay built around their tracks.

The project has gone through multiple iterations, each designed to support different marketing strategies and improve player engagement and retention.

A GraphQL API powers the backend infrastructure, handling authentication (DSP login) and real-time leaderboards, ensuring scalable and consistent management of users and scores across platforms.

In addition, the project includes an internal “recording studio” tool used to author and design note charts (gameplay partitions). These charts define the rhythm patterns that players interact with, enabling precise control over difficulty, pacing, and musical synchronization.
